Background

Marquez Charter Elementary School suffered extensive damage from the Palisades Fire that began January 7, 2026.
Before the end of that week, the District began to implement an Emergency Action Plan for the schools damaged in the fire, the schools closed due to proximity to the firezones, and all other schools, districtwide due to poor air quality.
Specialized crews (movers, IT, custodians) to create fully equipped learning environments.
Marquez Charter Elementary School have been relocated to Nora Sterry Elementary School which reopened to staff and students on January 15, 2025.
